Daniela also points to the large number of positive comments made by Robin Home Care’s clients to the CQC inspector in our last report which resulted in us being awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating (names have been excluded by CQC to maintain privacy).
These include:-
Their whole approach has been to enable [the person]. They are very sensitive in the way they support [the person] and take a flexible approach to the care, For example [the person] has difficulty bending down and so they will bring what [the person] needs to [their] level to help [the person] do manage independently. They always respond to [the person’s] choices and decisions, treating [them] with great respect.
Some relatives told us about the staff going the ”extra mile” for them and their families. One relative told us that the person being cared for had a learning disability. They said that the care workers had learnt some Makaton (a type of sign language) signs and modified their language so it was easier for the person to 18 IDC Care Ltd – Heritage Healthcare Ealing Inspection report 02 May 2018 understand. They said, ”They always go at [the person’s] pace.”
One relative explained, ”[The care workers] always tell me if there is anything they are worried about for example if [person] has some bleeding or a bruise anywhere. They cover me when I go away and last year [the person] had a fall whilst we were away and they took [them] to hospital and kept us up to date with what was happening.” Other people also told us about how the care workers had responded to emergency situations. One relative explained, ”The carers were here when [the person] fell and they stayed with us until the ambulance arrived.” One person using the service told us about how the care workers had helped improve their recovery after a fall. They said, ”I had a fall and they took me to hospital – the two carers were excellent and encouraged me to build my confidence after the fall. One encouraged me to join in with the physiotherapy and do the exercises.”
Reliable, kind and personably care agency
Robin Home Care Agency in Ealing have been providing care to my father who has dementia. In the past we have always found it difficult to find an agency which is reliable and who can provide the same carer each week. Robin Home Care have always been reliable and my father really enjoys Susana’s company. I would definitely recommend their services.
I have excellent treatment from my carer
She is never late, always so helpful. In an emergency, she is able to deal well. What more can I say – excellent in every way.
Cared for mum with great dignity
We were anxious to find the right care for the last months of Mum’s life. Robin Home Care Agency provided a well organised and efficient service combined with kindness and respectful for our Mum. All the staff were well trained and professional and also gave us a family a lot of support.
